The Pro-Tech Self-Centring Dowel jig Cat No: PTDJ06810
The Pro-Tech Self-centring dowel jig is an accurate simple-to-use tool that will make dowel jointing projects easy. This jig is designed to accommodate the drilling of holes for 6mm, 8mm and 10mm dowels. It will handle project sizes from 16mm up to 60mm in width (thickness) with ease.
This Pro-Tech jig can also be used to scribe a centre line and take out all the guesswork and measuring. Simply drop a pencil into one of the drill guides, squeeze the jig closed on the project and slide along the workpiece to scribe an accurate pencil line that is exactly in the middle.
Follow these four easy steps to drill perfectly aligned dowel holes:
Step 1
Install the desired drill bushings (6mm, 8mm or 10mm) in the centre bar. The centre bar is attached to the jig with the knobs as shown in the Step 1 picture.
Step 2
Close the self-centring dowel jig onto your project and shift it to position the drill bushings to your desired dowel location. Now drill your dowel holes to the desired depth.
Step 3
Use the end-stop to position the Pro-Tech jig respectively.
Step 4
The index pins are used to accurately space a series of holes along the length of the board.
